Rounding up! Afternoon around the house

Afternoons signify moments of stillness for me. There is something calming and easy about afternoons, even at work. After my little boy was born I haven't had the time to be up on this space, putting up pictures I took. But here's a look see at some of the pictures I took the last few days. Its been a splendid revelation for me...this series. I took these pictures amid a lot of noise within and without and its so gratifying to look at them together and find that peace, quietness and stillness was there in all that noise.

After Day 12: Rest and Recovery

My daily photo ritual came to a stand still on 12th, my little baby boy was born on the 13th. An 8 day break from the afternoon around the house project. It was permission to look in for me, to rejoice and enjoy and also to rest and recoup...(which i still am doing). Here's to starting back on acknowledging that the world around me exists to help me calm down, breathe and rest.

Day 7: Afternoon around the house

Today has been such a difficult day. My mood seems to dip and play around like the graph on the ECG. The last few days of pregnancy really does crazy things to the best of us, and I am not even one of them. Anika wasn't in a pretty mood either...my mood often rubs off on her, and shes been a little sick too so sticking with mamma is all she wanted to do when all mamma wanted to do was get some alone time. Yea, that kinda day. But we stole a few quiet moments together...moments that my camera allowed me to see, were perfect as it is. Moments like these...when the little pretty hands rest on my foot after a good afternoon nap.

The day started off a bit rough. I needed some quite time with my thoughts all by myself. Went down to the garden in my apartment and took a few nourishing breaths. So grateful.

Day 1: Afternoon around the house

After a fabulous 30 days with Catherine Just over at In Plain Sight , I have a deep desire to continue on, for the next 30 days I am going to kick start my afternoon around the house series...pictures of life around me every afternoon. Afternoons signify a lazy, relaxing time for me. Right now I have ton of family visiting me and helping me out with the last few days of pregnancy and post pregnancy when that happens. Pregnancy, exams, family, a toddler in tow all this can easy overwhelm but with this project I hope to slow down and take in afternoons for what they are...quiet, relaxing and serene. Here is my favorite picture from Day 1.
